Four more private industrial parks to come up in district | Coimbatore News

COIMBATORE: Not only the industrial clusters, but the number of private industrial parks are also on the rise in the district. It would soon have four more private industrial parks – two of them by the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia), one by the Coimbatore Sidco Industrial Estate Manufacturers Welfare Association (Cosiema) and another by the MSMEs in Coimbatore and Tirupur – in its kitty. G Thirumurugan, general manager, District Industries Centre, said, “Now that the existing industrial parks are jampacked with units, the state government is focussing on establishing private industrial parks to facilitate the growth of industries.
The projects are being implemented by the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation.” He said the Codissia industrial parks at Kallapalayam and Mopperipalayam were nearing completion. “They are likely to become fully operational by the end of March 2023.” The work on Cosiema industrial park at Solavampalayam near Kinathukadavu is, meanwhile, gaining momentum. According to a source, land levelling process is currently underway at the project site. The fourth project – Arignar Anna industrial park – is coming up at Kittampalayam at an estimated project cost of `24.6 crore. “Once these private industrial parks commence operations, the industrial sector in the district would see a huge development. The state government is offering a grant of `10 crore or 70% of the total project cost, whichever is higher, to help the industrial associations establish private industrial parks,” Thirumurugan said.
