More than 23,000 candidates appear for TNUSRB exam in Madurai | Madurai News


MADURAI: As many as 23,519 candidates took part in the Tamil Nadu Uniform Service Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) written examination for grade-II police constables, jail warders, and firemen held at various centers in Madurai on Sunday. Elaborate arrangements had been made at all exam centres for smooth conduct of the exam.
In Madurai city, a total of 11,500 candidates, including 6,926 men, 4,572 women, and two transgender persons had applied for the exam. On Sunday, a total of 9,737 candidates were present for the exam conducted at 12 centres in Madurai city while 1,763 candidates were absent.
On the hand, in Madurai district, a total of 16,310 candidates, who were all male candidates, had applied for the exam. As many as 13,782 candidates appeared for the exam which was held at 14 centres. A total of 2,528 candidates were absent. Overall, in both Madurai city and district, around 85% attendance was recorded for the exam.
In Dindigul district, at six centres, a total of 11,814 candidates were set to appear for the exam, including 9,741 men, 2,072 women and one transgender person. A total of 9,887 candidates were present for the exam on Sunday while 1,927 candidates were absent.
In Theni district, at 13 centres, a total of 10,733 candidates applied for the exam, of which 8,963 candidates were present for the exam. Similarly, in Tenkasi district, a total of 11,818 candidates appeared for the exam at 10 exam centres.
Across districts, senior police officers inspected the exam centres.
