Final Poll Rolls Have 82,428 Less Voters Than Last Year | Coimbatore News

COIMBATORE: The number of voters in Coimbatore district has come down by 82,428, compared to the final electoral list released by the district administration last year.
Coimbatore collector G S Sameeran released the final electoral list on Thursday in the presence of representatives of the political parties. As per the list, the district has 30,50,700 voters in 10 legislative constituencies, compared to 31,33,128 last year.
The number of voters came down due to deletion of dead people and double entries, the collector said. “The draft electoral rolls were kept for public view in all polling booths between November 9 and December 8. New voters were added by keeping January 1, 2023 as qualifying date. Those who turned 18 before the date were added to the list,” he said. There are 14,98,721 male voters, 15,51,421 female voters and 558 third gender voters in the district.
The Mettupalayam legislative assembly segment has 2,99,304 voters including 1,44,395 males, 1,54,862 females and 47 third gender voters. Sulur has 3,18,364 voters including 1,55,091 males, 1,63,204 females and 69 third gender voters; Kavundampalayam has 4,57,408 voters including 2,27,835 males, 2,29,454 females and 119 third gender voters; Coimbatore north has 3,31,062 voters including 1,66,128 males, 1,64,896 females and 38 third gender voters; and Thondamuthur has 3,26,895 voters including 1,61,332 males, 1,65,437 females and 126 third gender voters.
Coimbatore south has 2,43,819 voters including 1,21,422 males, 1,22,365 females and 32 third gender voters; Singanallur has 3,23,962 voters including 1,60,400 males, 1,63,536 females and 26 third gender voters; Kinathukadavu has 3,23,186 voters including 1,61,146 males, 1,68,000 females and 40 third gender voters; Pollachi has 2,23,316 voters including 1,06,805 males, 1,16,471 females and 40 third gender voters; and Valparai has 1,97,384 voters including 94,167 males, 1,03,196 females and 21 third gender voters.
