AHMEDABAD: The Naroda Police has arrested one Mohit Chaudhary (30) who had taken photographs of a 56-year-old a residence of Bhuj. The complainant stated that he was made unconscious and later his obscene photographs were taken with an unidentified girl.
Naroda Police Inspector SJ Bhatiya on Friday said the complainant came to the police and informed that he was being blackmailed and the accused had taken his nude pictures. The complainant, a resident of Bhuj had given the number from which he was getting calls asking for Rs 80,000. Hence the police officers laid the trap and called the accused to collect the money. And when Chaudhary came to collect the money, he was arrested by the police who had stationed themselves in the area. He said the other three including an unidentified girl in her 30’s along with Samir and Juber are still absconding.
The complainant has stated that on Tuesday, he was in the city for his marketing related work and had stayed at his relative residence in Chandranagar. On Wednesday, he went to meet a family friend in Naroda and instead of getting down at Naroda Gam station he got down earlier and later took a shared rickshaw. He stated that he was accompanied by two men and a woman. He stated that the rickshaw driver took him to Nana Chiloda instead of dropping him at Naroda Gam. He was asked to take another rickshaw from the other side of the bridge.
The complainant stated that while he was standing, the girl who was sitting in the rickshaw came to him and later found himself nude at a flat in Naroda. He said that Samir, Juber and Chaudhary came inside the flat and took away his original Aadhar card. The three then threatened to take him to the police station and when he requested not to go to the police, they asked for Rs one lakh to close the matter. Later they settled for Rs 80,000 for which he sought time to make the payment. The three then told him that they would return the Aadhar card only after he pays the money.
The three kept on making calls and asking for money after which the complainant approached the Naroda Police and registered a complaint 389 (putting person in fear of accusation of offence, to commit extortion), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) along with other sections of the IPC.
