Youth stabbed to death near Tirupur | Coimbatore News

COIMBATORE: A 24-year-old youth was found murdered in an agricultural field at Kallampalayam in Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
The deceased, identified as M Ajithkumar of Mettukattuvalasu, sustained 16 stab injuries including 14 on his neck.
Police said Ajithkumar, who was a mechanic in a knitwear company at Padiyur near Kangayam, had been arrested under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act a few months ago. He came out on conditional bail two weeks ago.
Ajithkumar developed enmity with some jail inmates who also came out on conditional bail and murdered him, according to police. The Tirupur North police traced the identity of the murderers and were trying to nab them.
The youth’s body was found by R Saminathan of Tirupur city in a field he had taken on lease. The hands and the legs of the youth were tied. He was lying in a pool of blood.
The farmer alerted Thottipalayam village administrative office Jayakumar, who informed the Tirupur North police.
A purse was found near the body. An Aadhaar card, a passport size photograph and some papers were found in the purse. The police sent the body to the Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital for postmortem. They registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
