AHMEDABAD: City hospitals and urban health centres registered 184 cases of dengue this month till November 26, according to the civic body’s health department. During the same period, 132 cases of malaria, 37 cases of falciparum and one of chikungunya were also registered.
The AMC figures showed that in the first 26 days of the month, hospitals registered 472 cases of diarrhoea, 11 cases of jaundice and 245 of typhoid. From January 1 to November 26, the city registered 2,415 cases of dengue in the city. The city had reported 2,538 cases of dengue in 2022.
AMC’s sources said dengue cases fell in November compared to the preceding three months. However, if the cases rise in December, the total number of dengue cases this year is likely to exceed last year’s. Most cases have been reported in Gota, Lambha, Sarkhej, Gomtipur, Thaltej, Jodhpur, Bodakdev, and Navrangpura, the officials said. AMC figures show that there have already been more waterborne disease cases in 2023 compared to all of 2022.
