How Modi guarantee beat Congs ‘six guarantees’ in MP
The BJP improved its vote share by about 8-9 percentage points compared to 2018 in Madhya Pradesh, where Congress led an aggressive campaign and Chouhan’s government faced anti-incumbency. Modi’s popularity played a crucial role in the BJP’s success as the party relied on his appeal rather than announcing a chief ministerial candidate. The BJP focused on women voters by launching the Ladli Behna Yojana and promised to increase the beneficiary amount if it won the election. Jyotiraditya Scindia’s defection to the BJP and aggressive campaigning also contributed to the party’s victory. The BJP’s early planning and announcement of candidates gave them an advantage in the election.
