TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS12) — The deadline for Floridians to apply for FEMA aid after back-to-back hurricanes Helene and Milton has been extended to Jan. 7, 2025.
FEMA announced the extension last week, allowing homeowners and renters with hurricane-caused losses to apply for financial assistance for displacement, basic home repairs, personal property losses, and other uninsured or underinsured disaster-caused expenses.
To apply, homeowners and renters can visit DisasterAssistance.gov, download the FEMA app, or use by phone at 800-621-3362. FEMA also says applicants can watch a video tutorial on YouTube.

FEMA highlighted that homeowners and renters who suffered damage from both hurricanes will have to apply separately for each disaster, with dates of damage for each.
