Let me tell you, this matter is of 10 March 2025. BJP leader Ram Vilas Thakur, a resident of Jaitpura village, had complained to the police that when he went to work on the farm at 8:30 am, his wife Rani Bai Rawat and children Prashant and Uma were at home. When he returned at 12:30 pm, he saw that his wife was lying in a blood -soaked kitchen. He had lost his life.

Police investigation started
On receiving the information of the incident, Superintendent of Police Rohit Kashwani and Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Prashant Choubey reached the spot. A special team was formed under the leadership of Municipal Superintendent of Police Atul Singh under his supervision. The police recovered the ax from the spot and started investigating the incident. When the family members were questioned, it became clear that Rani Bai was married to Ram Vilas Thakur, who had three children from his first wife. Among them, the elder son Prashant Thakur hated his stepmother and was not happy with his marriage.

Sorted up in 50 hours
During interrogation, Prashant admitted that he did not like his step mother Rani Bai at all and did not want to see her replacing her mother. On the day of the incident, when there was no one in the house, he took advantage of the opportunity and killed Rani Bai with an ax in the kitchen. Vidisha police solved the case of Rani Thakur murder case in just 50 hours.

The police have arrested the accused Prashant Thakur and a case has been registered against him. He will soon be produced in the Honorable Court.
